How We Work With Schools
Athena Learning works directly with schools providing customized courses and tailored professional development services.
All of our courses and professional development are delivered in a residency model. Our consultants come to your school and work with your team and teachers in person.
For schools interested in Athena Learning Programs:
Our consultants come to your school and model the instruction in Athena Learning programs. All curriculum materials, including lesson plans, Powerpoint deck lessons, video-based lessons, reading materials and assessments are provided by Athena for all of our courses. If desired, classroom teachers co-teach the programs and can eventually take over instruction for the program.
Some of our client schools use just one of our courses. Other schools use several.
For schools interested in Professional Development in English Language Arts:
Some schools opt to receive straightforward professional development without an academic course. These schools usually want support in teaching foundational skills in reading and writing. We work with school leaders to provide professional development in the delivery of any ELA program they are already using. We are also able to support these schools with our extensive PD offerings in English Language Arts.
For schools interested in Family and Community Engagement Programs:
Our Parent Workshops can be offered on site or via ZOOM. Increasingly, we have noticed that parents prefer to participate in family workshops from the comfort of their homes after a long day at work. We have found that ZOOM-based parent workshops are well-attended, especially when they are offered after dinnertime—-around 7pm.
For international schools, home schools and remote schools:
Our programs can be delivered via ZOOM for schools that prefer that modality. We prefer to deliver live lessons via ZOOM, but also have video lessons for all of our programs that enable schools to deliver instruction on demand. Contact us to discuss your particular needs.
